Catherine McAuley, in her time, responded to the needs of the poor. She and her Sisters fed the poor, addressed discrimination against people of the Catholic faith, sheltered women who were victims of violence, cared for and educated girls, ministered to the sick, assisted those living in deplorable conditions.
The Institute today, embracing the Mercy legacy, identifies these same contemporary overwhelming issues facing our global work as the Critical Concerns. This session will explore the Critical Concerns from a global view, national challenges, and from a state/local perspective.
In this interactive session we will discuss how, as people of faith, through the lens of Mercy, we respond to the call to action to impact these problems. We will discuss how to craft our own individual response, explore resources and opportunities, and continue this most important work of the Mercy world!
Evelyn Saul Quinn, M.Ed, MSW served at Georgian Court University in a variety of positions including Associate Professor of Social Work, Provost, and Vice President for Mission Integration.
