Women: Exploring Our Lived and Spiritual Realities--LISTENING TO THE VOICES OF THE WOMEN

The women mystics give voice to the sacred feminine pathways to union with the Holy One. They invite us to reclaim our desires and longings, to trust in our experiences of God, and to unite contemplation and action. During our exploration, we will listen to the teachings of the 13th century mystic, Mechtild of Magdeburg, who invites us into the path of reciprocal love. We will reflect on passages from her masterpiece, "The Flowing Light of the Godhead," spend time learning about her life as a Beguine, and engage in contemplative journal writing and sharing.

Colette (www.colettelafia.com) is a spiritual director and retreat leader who has a passion for helping people connect more deeply with the presence of the sacred in their hearts and in their daily lives. She is an award-winning author, and her recent book, The Divine Heart (Spring 2021) won the Silver Nautilus award in the category of Western Spirituality. She is a graduate of the Living School through the Center of Action and Contemplation, and adjunct faculty at Mercy Center, Burlingame.
